Guidance and support are available for all students to help them adjust to a new country, a new language and a new culture. Helping students to make the transition to a new style of education is an important aspect of the UMC High School as well, and academic support is available to ensure students can reach their goals. Students are encouraged to speak to a teacher or staff member with any concerns they may have during their stay in Canada. We are always available to listen, explain and provide assistance for our students.
A Student Visa is required for all international students who wish to study in high school or college in Canada. Students must apply for a Student Authorization Visa at a Canadian Consulate before they leave for Canada. It is very important to plan ahead, since it may take from 1 to 3 months for the Visa Process to be completed. UMC H.S. student counselor is ready to assist students who need help to complete the visa extension process upon the their request.
ON-LINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
UMC High School’s full online academic management system is now running. Sign up in 60 seconds. Gain instant access to attendance, homework, gradebook, report cards, scheduler and parent portal. Students can check their homework online and parents can know the progress of their children by “clicking” into the system.
Once the student starts a new semester, we will input student data and an invitation will be sent. If you do not receive our invitation, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to inform us.
COMMUNITY SERVICE HOUR SUPPORT
UMC High School Student Services can assist students to find opportunities to complete their 40 hours of community activities as a required component of the OSSD.
