Welcome to UMC High School, a private high school located in the heart of vibrant North York, Toronto. UMC High School was founded in 2008, catering to both local and international students between grades 9-12. With students coming to Canada from all around the world, we see to it that our students are taken care of and learning to become constructive citizens of tomorrow. The school was founded upon certain principles which are reflected in our slogan: “Connect the world with Commitment and Compassion”.
Registered with the Ontario Ministry of Education, UMC High School provides students with an academically focused environment to succeed into prominent post-secondary institutions. In total, there were 31 graduating students for the class of 2013, where 100% of the students were accepted into prestigious universities/colleges such as the University of Toronto, Western University and University of Waterloo. Furthermore, 90% of the graduates received multiple admissions from many different universities/colleges. We’re exceptionally proud of the many students that received entrance scholarships from these schools, where the accumulated amount is over $10,000. UMC High School promises our students success in their academic career.
The Advanced Placement (Grade 12) and Pre-AP (Grades 10-11) Program are offered at UMC High School for students that are motivated to go further into fields of their choice. Taking the AP courses will allow students to stand out in their university application process as well as give them a head start in accumulating university credits once they have taken the standardized AP tests. Students can choose from many AP courses at UMC High School such as Calculus AB/BC, Biology, Chemistry and Studio Art.
The Elite Program is another specialized program UMC High School prides itself in. It is a 10 month long intensive university preparation program for students that excel in their studies and are searching for a guarantee into a top Canadian university with honor if it is possible. The program also places focus on the need for international students to meet certain requirements such as IELTS, OSSLT, volunteer, and extra-curricular.
Furthermore, extracurricular activities are fundamental to school life at our school. At UMC High School, students can experience various international festivals and cultural events such as the Autumn Festival and the celebration of the Chinese New Year. We support the students’ organization of afterschool clubs, sport clubs and fundraising events to nourish the development of compassionate leaders. We also encourage students to reach out to other countries for the further volunteer experiences. Our school is committed to helping students in the best form of education and school life that any institute can provide.
We hope that future students will come to love our school as much as our alumnus and staff do. For further questions and concerns, please contact me at the High School Office, 416-221-1226.
